The Brand Audit Series | Helping Triumph Accounting Attract More Clients Online
When someone lands on your website, does your brand instantly earn their trust?
This question is especially important for a business like accounting, where clients are handing over their most sensitive information and need to feel confident they're in capable hands. As a brand photographer, I help business owners build exactly that kind of trust, and I've learned that it takes far more than posting a few photos on Instagram now & then. It takes an updated website, an active social media presence, and a cohesive marketing strategy all working together to tell a clear, consistent story. That's why I started offering brand audits to my clients! These are honest, in-depth, screen-recorded video reviews of how their business shows up online. When Linda Aieling Koester of Triumph Accounting & Bookkeeping signed up for one, I was thrilled to dig in. She already had a bright, memorable brand, but just needed a few strategic changes to help her business reach its full potential.

Here’s where we started.
Linda had a lot going for her already: a memorable brand, a clear description of what she does, and a warm personal story that helps people connect with her. But like so many busy business owners, a few technical issues and missed opportunities were quietly working against her, keeping her website and social media from pulling their full weight in attracting new clients.
As a brand photographer, I see this happen often: a business owner may be amazing at their job, but their online presence needs some attention & some strategic tightening. Here are the key things I flagged in her audit, along with why they matter for anyone trying to grow their business online.
1. Broken links are quietly costing you clients
One of the first things to check when you’re auditing your own website is whether or not everything actually works, because a broken link is a lost lead. Too many broken links can also negatively impact your search engine rankings! On Linda's site, several of her "schedule a consultation" links were leading to a 404 page, and she also had a broken LinkedIn link in her footer.
These calls to action are exactly how you want people getting in touch with you, so when they don't work, potential clients hit a dead end right at the moment they were ready to reach out. It's an easy fix, but an important one to make! There are multiple SEO and website audit tools out there that will help you easily discover any broken links - my personal favorite is ahrefs.
2. Show your face, not just your space
As a brand photographer, I spend a lot of time thinking about how people connect with the person behind a business, because that connection is what turns a curious visitor into a client. Linda has an adorable, colorful office that shows off her personality beautifully, but her homepage was leading with photos of the space rather than photos of her.
The recommendation: put at least one professional photo of yourself on your homepage so people can immediately see who they'll be working with. Those fun office photos are still a wonderful asset, but don't fall into the trap of only using office space photos and never mixing in real photos of you and your team. When it comes to a service built on trust like accounting, seeing a real, friendly face makes all the difference.
3. Keep your contact page simple
A contact page has one job: to make it as easy as possible for someone to reach out. The moment you add distractions, multiple links, too many photos, etc., you risk losing people right before they take action. I recommended Linda keep her contact page clean and simple, move her privacy policy down to the footer where it belongs, and make her consultation button a bold, eye-catching color (that fun pink from her brand!) so it stands out on every page.
The goal is to have clear, working calls to action sprinkled throughout your entire site, so no matter where someone is when they decide they're ready, the next step is right in front of them.

4. Your social media should attract your ideal client
Linda already has a great start on social media with fun photos and a strong personal story, but there was room to make her profiles work harder at bringing in her ideal clients. A few opportunities were sitting unused: Instagram's multi-link bio feature (so people can jump straight to her booking page), a line in her bio spelling out exactly who she serves, and the pinned post feature to orient new visitors right away.
The biggest opportunity, though, was content strategy. For a business like bookkeeping, posting simple, educational tips (the kind that ease the overwhelm small business owners feel around taxes and finances) is one of the best ways to build trust and attract the right followers. And you don't have to start from scratch every time: you can repurpose the copy that is already on your website into social posts, which makes staying consistent far more manageable.
5. Track your lead sources
This one isn't just about your online presence, but it's one of the most valuable things any business owner can do. I asked Linda where most of her new clients find her, because knowing that answer changes everything about where you focus your energy. Are people discovering your website organically on Google? Are your SEO efforts paying off? Are new clients coming mostly from referrals or social media? Is your website traffic converting, or are people clicking to your website and then clicking away after just a few seconds?
I ask every single one of my clients how they found me. That information tells me which marketing efforts are actually working & which aren’t so that I can choose exactly where to spend my time. If you're not already tracking this, start now. It's the simplest way to make sure your time and energy are going toward the efforts that actually bring in business.
