What Is Personal Branding Photography?

Personal Branding Photography is a specialized genre of photography that aims to capture an individual's unique personality, story, & professional identity. The purpose of a Branding Photoshoot is to create a visual narrative that goes beyond simply depicting you, your products, & your services - this form of photography will provide you with a customized set of images that reflect your business's core values, communicate your brand message, & show examples of the experience you provide to your clients & customers. A Personal Branding Photoshoot presents an opportunity for you to build an invaluable library of content that you can use to fill out your website, refresh your marketing campaigns, update your social media pages, & more. You’re passionate about your business, & your branding photos should reflect that!

Branding Photography FAQS

  • If you have a recent Headshot taken by a professional, you’re a step further than most - but did you know that a Headshot is only one part of your visual narrative? With a traditional Headshot, the focus is simply you, usually shot from the chest up. In a Personal Branding session, you delve deep into telling the story of what you do & why you do it via detail shots, lifestyle shots, photos of you in action, you with your products, etc. No matter your field, the possibilities are endless!

  • A Branding Photographer is a photographer who specializes in creating custom, specific images for individuals & businesses to use for their marketing or self-promotional purposes. Branding Photographers will either work with an individual who has a Personal Brand (usually someone providing a service, for example: a yoga teacher, a life coach, a realtor, etc.), or with a business that is focused on promoting their products (examples: a restaurant, a clothing shop, a company that sells custom dog jackets, etc.). A Branding Photographer will meet with the business owner or head of marketing to discuss what types of images they need & why they need them, & will then create specific images that the company can use on their websites, social media accounts, etc. to market their products & services.

  • So here you are, with an amazing service or product to offer the world. Maybe you’ve dreamed up an innovative new venture, or maybe you’ve been in business for a while - but either way, you’re ready to create a new & fresh brand identity. A rebranding effort often comes with a new website, a blank Instagram profile, & big plans to implement a marketing campaign… multiple empty pages full of endless opportunities stare you in the face. It’s exciting, but oftentimes overwhelming, too! If you’re feeling ready to present the best version of yourself, your products, & your services to the world, it’s time to look into a branding photoshoot that is designed to provide you with the exact images you need to help you get out there, grow your business, & achieve your goals!

  • Creating a full roster of cohesive images that tell your customer a story is an involved process, & there are multiple factors to consider including the location(s), outfits, branding colors, your brand messaging, etc. Before our shoot, we’ll work together to plan out every detail beforehand - specific shots, clothing changes, props, all down to the smallest details. Each session includes a one-on-one consultation with me where we discuss various ways to best reflect the type of business you run & to clarify the message you wish to convey about your brand!
